I stood on the balcony of a house in London, some might call it a mansion, some wouldn’t know the difference. The sky was blue, like in the movies. The air was crisp and sweet with a breeze that tickled the hairs on my arms. I held my soda water with a lemon in one hand, looking down at my fellow company, resting my other hand on the black railing. She yelled up to me, from below.
“That ring is blinding me, Victoria! Turn it off.” I laughed but refused to move. I was comfortable in the heat of the day, admiring the rocks on my finger.
“I wouldn’t if I could, my love.”
“Who knew the sun had competition?”
“Darling, I did.”
This Art Deco ring was handcrafted around 1920 in platinum. It’s a dome-shaped sparkler that features 25 old European cut diamonds. The four larger stones weigh approximately .94 total carats and the smaller stones total approximately .42 carats. The ring face measures 13.4 mm north to south, 19 mm across, and 5.1 mm off the finger. The band width narrows to 1.3 mm at the back. It bears no marks and has been acid tested.
This Gatsby ring is one of those addicting accessories you’ll never want to remove. And honestly, I’m not going to make you, so go ahead, wear away.
