Vintage Art Deco Silver Butterfly Wing Bar Brooch Pin

It fluttered in the wind like a snowflake in December. It danced through the sky like a ballerina on a stage. The butterfly landed on her nose, only for a moment, enough time for her to smile and feel it tickle her cheeks with its wings. She saw the turquoise and the indigo as it shimmered in the springtime sun. She chased it, desperate to watch it be violet, cyan, and azure all at the same time again. It seemed so dramatic and yet so gentle.

This vintage Art Deco butterfly wing bar brooch was handcrafted around 1920 in silver. It’s a sleek brooch pin with a morpho butterfly wing at the center, in a round setting, with long silver bars reaching out from each side. This pin measures 110 x 15.4 mm and it weighs 6.6 grams. This piece bears a maker’s mark that reads, “TM & Co” for Thomas L Mott Company. It’s also marked, “GENUINE BUTTERFLY WINGS” and “STERLING SILVER”.

This sophisticated and geometric brooch is a sharp looking piece, to be worn with the utmost confidence and plenty of attitude.
