Pretty Mid-Victorian Pearl Diamond Ruby Ring 15k Gold
$ 1,240.00
Cultured pearls didn’t come into widespread use until the very early 1900s, but their beauty and luster was highly sought after for millennia before that. Pearls like the ones in this ring would have been found in rivers or oceans formed naturally by shells and would’ve been exceedingly rare and hard to come by.
It’s no wonder then, that the artist of this fabulous ring built the whole look around these four creamy white pearls. Set in the center of the nautical gems is a small rose cut diamonds and a line of rubies twists its way up the shoulders, set off by the finest of engraving.
This Mid-Victorian ring isn’t hallmarked but was no doubt created in England in 1860s. Its wee diamond is just 1 mm across, while its larger shimmering pearls are 4x3 mm each, the 6 pearls graduate from 1.5-2.4 mm each. The face of this lovely ring measures 8 mm north to south at the widest point and 16 mm across, it sits 3.4 mm off the finger and narrows to 1.8 mm wide at the back of the band. This ring is a tiny little size 3.5 and weighs just 2 grams, it’s unmarked but tests as 15 karat gold.
