I have to tell you, I find that the combination of opals and colored stones just delights my eyes. This turn of the (last) century ring combines a glowing, smooth cabochon opal and two rich, red faceted garnets to stunning effect.
Hand crafted around 1900, this Victorian era beauty is crafted in luxurious 18 karat gold. The center opal is a light orange/green color and very lively, it measures 8.5x6.4x3.2 mm and weighs approximately 1 carat. Flanking the opal are two oval cut garnets measure 6.3x5.5x3.4 mm and weigh approximately 1.85 carats in total. The ring face measures 9.3 mm north to south and 19.4 mm across, it sits 4.5 mm off the finger and narrows to 2.3 mm at the back of the band. This size 7.5 US is marked ‘18k’ inside the band and has a makers mark of ‘WD’, it weighs 3.6 grams.
This amazing ring catches the eye and simply won’t let it go!
