Vintage Niels Erik From Sterling Chrysoprase Drop Pendant

A big pop of color in a simple yet interesting mounting was the signature of a lot of Scandinavian Mid-Century designers, Modernism at its finest, it's clean lines doing all the talking, no need to shout. This is especially true of the works of Neils Erik (NE) From. Born in 1908, this Danish silversmith and designer began his career in the early 30s and was a huge contributor to the Danish Arts and Crafts modernist movement.

This bold and simple pendant is a perfect example of From’s style, with its sweeping lines of sterling silver and big round chrysoprase gem, it’s a pop of color that draws the eye back over and over again. Hand crafted in about 1950 by From, this pieces measures 63.5 mm long and 228 mm wide at it’s widest point, the stone is 22 mm across. The pendant is marked to the reverse with ’925 S’ ‘Sterling’ ’NE FROM’ and ‘Denmark’, it weighs 14.2 grams.
