Antique Victorian Gold Watch Chain Necklace Paper Clip Link
$ 5,850.00
There’s something to be said about gold. When I was a young woman it was all silver and white metals for me, but the more gold that I held and felt and wore, the more I started to understand it, the glow of it, the warmth of it, the weightiness and substance of it. Yup, something to be said about gold.
This fantastic and hard to come by watch chain dates to about 1890 and showcases heavy paperclip links alternating with gold knots and culminating in the iconic T bar. The chain is 16.25 inches long and is hallmarked with ‘9’ and ‘.375’ for 9 karat gold, and the anchor for being made in Birmingham, England, the T bar is marked with the makers mark of CDB. This late Victorian chain weighs 39.6 grams. It’s sure to be a staple of your jewelry wardrobe!
A note from Victoria: Right now this chain is set up with two large swivel clasps at the back and the front T bar drops from a series of extra links. It is possible for me to have my jeweler move one of the swivel clasps to the front and hang it from where the T bar hangs now, thus making the T bar removable so that you can wear this chain with any pendant or fob. Just let us know and we’re happy to make this alteration for you.
