She brought her hand up to her heart and felt for the cross, enjoying the cool texture against her fingers. The low, burnished sun played across the surface of the bright steel cross and reflections of orange and red danced in her eyes. Just a moment to breathe and be still. Here was her church: her beating heart, a glowing cross, and a willow tree.

This beautiful cut steel cross was made around 1870 and carries generations of hopes, joys, and comfort with it. Elegantly shaped, the fluted arms are graceful and noble and the intricately cut steel gives an intense reflectivity. At 51 mm high and 32.5 mm wide, it has good visual presence, yet at 3.9 grams, it still feels light when worn. It is quite eye-catching without clamoring for the spotlight.
