Victorian Intaglio Spinner Ring 18k Gold Bloodstone Sardonyx

William carefully slipped off his dark bloodstone ring, a treasure that he was never without. With practiced ease, he flipped it over, revealing his insignia, the intertwined WW of his name. He dripped wax from the stick he held close to his parchment and blew on it to cool it just a little, then pressed his ring into the crimson pool and held it firmly for a moment. When he peeled it away he marveled at the perfect seal, at the depth and beauty left by the simple yet intricate carving. The ring had been a gift from his father when he’d turned 20 back in 1882, and he hadn’t removed it since, other than for times like this; he marveled at it just a little as he always did, plucked a bit of red was off the edge and slid it back onto his finger.

This gorgeous and fairly masculine ring was hand crafted with precision in Victorian England. The ring is set with a flat oval of bloodstone on one side and an intaglioed oval of sardonyx on the reverse. The ring's is done all in 18 karat gold, it measures 20.6 mm north to south and 23 mm across, and weighs 6.8 grams. It is fully hallmarked with marks for 18 karat gold, Birmingham 1882 and a maker “A.W”. The spinning mechanism makes for a very comfortable ring as it moves with the hand, it is a size 8.
