After another long trip overseas, training soldiers to fight for freedom, and eating cold stale food for far too long, he came home. His daughter came out of their house to greet him, with her pony-tail flying as she ran into his familiar arms. His loving wife walked after her, with a smile of comfort and joy upon her perfect face. He kissed her like he meant it, in the English rain, beneath a gray and misty sky. With this ring, he kept a symbol that, to him, meant more than a sign of heroism and audacity. It meant moments like these, the reason for leaving, to protect the ones he loved, and those who loved him right back.
This handsome antique gold shield ring was handcrafted in Chester, England, in 1905. It features a shield shaped face with regal designed shoulders. The overall face design measures 13.2 x 18 x 2 mm off the finger with a bandwidth of 3.6 mm. This piece is fully hallmarked and bears the crown mark for England, the gold purity mark, ‘18’, for 18 karat gold, the wheat sheaves mark for Chester, and the letter year code, ‘E’ for 1905. This ring is a size 10 and weighs 6.8 grams.
This ring would look handsome on the finger of a gentlemen. It would also look quite fabulous hanging from your favorite gold chain and clasped around your neck!
