She wore it so that she could look at her finger and remember the bond of friendship they had shared, the sweetness of lost love; to see how the circle of the ring would keep looping and never end, like her affection. She could smile when she beheld this tiny treasure, and reminisce about how many laughs they had shared and how many secrets they had told each other, of their love.
This Late Georgian gold and black enamel memorial ring was handcrafted in England in about 1750. The ring reads ‘Leon (?) Stillman, Ob 24 Mar 1750, AE 53’ in gold with black enamel. It was crafted of 18 karat gold and has been acid tested to verify. The face of the ring measures 3.4 mm north to south and its 1.9 mm deep. This ring is a size 8.25 and cannot be resized, it weighs 3.6 grams.
