Victorian Silver Bird on Branch Brooch Pin Gold Accents

The amber glow from the setting sun faded as he looked at her. The light glinted briefly off her brooch, affixed to her collar. She shivered in the breeze as he wrapped his warm arm around her shoulders, as a true gentleman does. They sat and watched the last of the sunset as the sky transformed into black, and the stars came out.

This antique Victorian silver brooch was handcrafted in Birmingham, England, in 1892. This oval pin features a tree branch motif with a lovely green and rose gold leaves. This piece measures 24.4 x 39.5 mm and weighs 3.9 grams. It is hallmarked with an anchor, and a lion passant, for Birmingham, and English silver. It also bears the letter date code, ‘S’, for 1892, and a maker’s mark that reads, ‘J.W’.
