Antique Edwardian Art Nouveau Pendant Pearl Turquoise

She wasn’t sure she was going to meet him. They said one year, same time, same place. She wore the necklace he bought her on a whim, she liked the way it looked with her eyes. She was early, starting to doubt she was even the right place. There are a lot of cafes in Barcelona. She went to the bar for an espresso while she waited impatiently, nervously tapping her sandals on the cobblestone. She turned to find a seat and saw him in the doorway, with that leather jacket, that grin, and that thick wavy dark hair.

This antique Edwardian gold, turquoise, and pearl pendant was handcrafted in Birmingham, England in 1907. It features a graceful Art Nouveau design with a pear-shaped turquoise at the center and a natural pearl drop. The turquoise measures 10 x 5 x 2.5 mm and is cabochon cut. It’s a robin’s egg blue color with light brown matrices throughout. The pearl is a creamy white lustrous color that measures 7 x 5 x 3.4 mm. Overall, this piece weighs 2.5 grams and measures 49 x 22 x 4.5 mm. It is fully hallmarked and bears the gold purity marks, “9” and “.375”, the anchor for Birmingham, and the date letter, “h”.
