Will you marry me,” he asked. “Yes,” she said. “Do you want a ring,” he asked. “Yes,” she said. “What do you want?,” he asked. “Something that reminds you of me.” She replied. “Oh, something wild and wonderful, something one of a kind, something with a strong sense of style?” He teased. “Yes,” she said, “but in a ring.”
Found it. The perfect, unusual, onyx and diamond Art Deco ring. Beautifully hand crafted in platinum in about 1920, this beauty is set with three central diamonds in a diagonal pattern across the face, the center stone is an Old European cut diamond which measures 5.1x5.1x3.6 and weighs about .685 carats, the other two are also OECs and about .25 carats each, the ring is set with a further 6 diamond at the band for a total diamond weight of approximately 1.15 carats. Flanking each side of the diamonds are three beautifully carved and set onyx gems. The ring has no hallmarks but has been acid tested as platinum. This ring is a size 8.5 and weighs 4.3 grams. The face of this ring measures 13.6 mm north to south and 13.5 mm across, it sits 7 mm off the finger and narrows to 1.1 mm at the back of the band.
I bought this ring in France and while it has no hallmarks, I feel like it may be French in origin.
