This stunning necklace captures a unique moment in jewelry history—a blend of late Arts and Crafts charm with whispers of the emerging Art Deco style. Handcrafted with meticulous care, the necklace showcases intricate enamel work and bold geometric forms, hinting at the Deco movement’s growing influence. The rich green and blue enamel flows seamlessly around three cabochon sapphires, each shimmering with a deep, inviting blue that suggests both mystery and elegance. It’s a piece that feels as if it holds the very spirit of a time when tradition met modernity, a wearable artwork that bridges two iconic eras.
Crafted in England around 1918, this necklace measures 16.5 inches in length and weighs 9.06 grams. The pendant drop extends 51.5 mm north to south and spans 32.6 mm across. The central sapphire, approximately 7.8 x 5.2 mm and 3.5 carats, is accompanied by a bottom drop sapphire of about 1.0 carat and a top gem around 0.7 carats. Though unmarked, we've carefully acid tested the piece to confirm its silver purity.
This necklace is more than a piece of jewelry—it’s a glimpse into the transition from the organic forms of the Arts and Crafts movement to the bold lines of Art Deco. It’s a rare find for anyone who appreciates the beauty of history in wearable form.
