Antique Victorian Gold Buckle Earrings

I’ve told you before, haven’t I? About those Victorians and their symbols? One of their favorites was the buckle, they saw it as a symbol of fidelity and loyalty, a bond that could not be broken. It is seen in a lot of heraldry throughout the Victorian era.

These wonderful earring are hand crafted in 15 karat gold with a definite rosy hue. They feature a wonderful buckle motif with a round ball drop at the bottom. These lovely and articulated earrings measure 42 mm from top to bottom including the wire and 15.4 mm across, together they weigh 4.2 grams. Made in England in about 1870.
