Antique Swiss Enamel Pendant 14k Gold

Swiss Enamel is truly the highest level of enameling. The artist started with a small metal plate and slowly built up layer after layer of color, firing the plate in between each color. The result is an enamel as lush and compelling as any painting.

Made between 1830-1840, this stunning pendant showcases a lovely young woman in a wonderful yellow hat. The small portrait is set into a lovely 14 karat gold (tested, not marked) frame with multi-color enameling around the edges and a small pearl drop. The pendant measures 24 mm north to south and 34.9 mm across and weighs 2.7 grams.
