Antique Sterling Silver Stamp Box Pendant

Before the age of plastics, we made things that weren’t meant for a single use, things that were meant to be kept, not thrown away and replaced. Here is such a thing. Lovely and beautiful in its details. A box, made for stamps but ready to hold anything your heart desires.

This gorgeous little sterling silver stamp box is repoussed with a swirling floral motif and a sweet little dog. It measures 37.2x27.5x8.7 mm and weighs 12.6 grams. It wasn’t made to be worn, but someone over the years has added a jump ring so that it could be worn on a chain. This beauty is fully unmarked but tests as sterling. It was mostly likely made in England in about 1880.
