Retro Ruby Diamond Gold Earrings

The turntable played the Everly Brothers and Elvis. It was a neighborhood gathering of couples and friends, dining on appetizers and sipping pink lemonade through colored straws. She wore an elegant taupe and olive green ensemble, complete with a swing dress and a pair of matching ghillies. Her hair was curled to accentuate her jawline and right there, hanging from her ears, were ribbons of gold, set with rubies. Her hips swayed to the music, allowing the skirt of her dress to swish, back and forth. She made mesmerizing look effortless.
These vintage retro ruby and diamond earrings were handcrafted around 1950. They are made in 18 karat gold and feature flowers made up of cabochon cut rubies and round white diamonds. The gold details act like a ribbon, hanging gracefully from the ear. Each of the eight total rubies are approximately 5 mm in diameter and 2 mm deep for a total ruby weight of approximately 4.32 carats total. Each of the 8 faceted diamonds are 2.25 mm in diameter for a total diamond weight of approximately .5 carats. The earrings have posts and clips to hold them in place securely.
The overall measurements of each earring are 37.5 x 21 x 10.7 mm. Together, they weigh 13.7 grams. They have been acid tested.
