There’s a certain kind of elegance that refuses to be symmetrical—a beauty that thrives in the unexpected. This early 20th-century necklace captures that essence, with rich Swiss lapis cabochons cascading in a deliberately off-balance design, their celestial blue depths flecked with golden pyrite like distant stars.
Crafted around 1910, this silver necklace measures 15.5 inches in length and weighs 4.67 grams. The Swiss lapis stones, in varying oval and elongated shapes, are carefully set in silver, with the largest cabochon measuring 12 x 15.8 x 6.5 mm. The two elongated teardrop cabochon stones measure 12 x 7 x 3.5 d mm and 12.5 x 7.2 x 3.7 d mm. The drop itself spans 49 mm in length and 17.3 mm at its widest, creating an elegant vertical sweep. The clasp bears tiny marks, softened with time and wear.
An ode to asymmetry, this necklace embodies the quiet artistry of a century past—an effortless adornment for those who find beauty in the unexpected.
