Antique Birds & Flowers Locket Engraved 1912

A locket is such a beautifully iconic thing, your mom had one, and her mom before her, and most likely her mom as well. Before photographs people kept hair or a dried flower or some other memento that was precious to them, a holder for a token that held special meaning and kept that close to the heart.

This wonderful locket was hand made in England in 1912 and has lovely delicate engraving showing birds and flowers. It’s got great scrolling details at the top and it hinges at the bottom to make it easier viewing of the inside for the wearer. The locket is crafted in 9 karat gold and has the hallmarks of ‘9’, ‘.375’, the town mark for Chester and the year mark for 1912. This beauty measures 39 mm from top to bottom including the bale and 28.7 mm across, it’s 4.2 mm thick and weighs 4.2 grams.
