Victorian Turquoise Love Knot Ring

$ 520.00 $ 650.00

Turquoise first arrived in Europe via Turkey, hence its name, which is French for “Turkish”. Beads made from turquoise date back to 5,000 BC in Mesopotamia. It was one of the first gems to be mined and cut. Ancient Egyptians often wore off-white and would then decorate themselves with bold colored stones such as turquoise or lapis lazuli. They regarded the greenish-blue hues of turquoise to fertility, healing, and rebirth.

This antique gold turquoise ring was handcrafted in England around 1870. It features a branch motif, a nod towards that Victorian staple, the love knot, with six round robin egg blue turquoise stones. The ring face measures 7 x 17 x 1.5 mm off the finger. There are no marks and it has been acid tested. This ring is a size 7 and it weighs 1.7 grams.

This nature-inspired beauty is sure to be your next favorite ring.
